Playlist for November 2020

Still no Christmas songs.
Probably won’t be any, either.
But never say never!

Music continues to be a huge influence on my lockdown life.
It’s one of the few constants.

This is the month in which I get to have two hideous anniversaries.

  1. My mother passing away.
  2. My cancer becoming a reality.

I always find my mood – and inclination to give a fuck about anything – dips sharply.
Trying to take time off around this time of year is never an easy thing to do, as months can slip by without work if I switch off.
It’s fair to say that I’ve done some work I haven’t felt I could bill simply because I wasn’t proud of it.

The good news is, the passion to do work is back.
Now, back to those non-Christmas Christmas songs.
There’s some great stuff here.
Enjoy.

One Of The Best Things

I’ve been mentoring people for a few years now.
It all began by accident – someone asked me to mentor them and so I did.
Their recommendation brought me more people.

Now, I mentor as part of the She Says Who’s Your Momma Mentoring scheme in London. This is doubly great as it’s focused on elevating the great women leaders in the creative industries.

Seeing the change in people is probably my favourite thing from doing this.
It’s gradual, but like a wave it builds with an energy that’s infectious.
For me as the mentor, and for the mentee.
